Griekenland - Lesbos
Het eiland Lesbos is het op twee na grootste
eiland van Griekenland, gelegen in de Oost-Ege�sche Zee voor de kust van
Turkije. Niet alleen het heerlijke klimaat is een bekende eigenschap van het
eiland, maar ook het prachtige landschap, de olijfboombossen, Ouzo
(anijsdrankje), houtsnijwerken en warmwaterbronnen typeren Lesbos. Het merendeel
van de stranden wordt gevormd door kiezels en keien, met soms wat zand.
Zandstranden zijn te vinden in Anaxos en Petra. De hoofdstad is Mytilini, waar ook het vliegveld en de haven zijn. Hier is het winkelaanbod groter dan in de overige plaatsen op Lesbos. De meeste winkels zijn in het hoogseizoen van circa 08.30 tot 14.00 uur en van 17.30 tot 20.30 uur geopend.
Het versteende bos in het westen van Lesbos is zeker een bezoek waard en is natuurlijk onderdeel van het excursieprogramma. Andere mogelijkheden voor uitstapjes zijn bijvoorbeeld de dorpentocht en de Griekse avond. De hostess vertelt u graag alles over deze en de vele andere mogelijkheden.
